Wrought Iron Gate Overthrows

Fine Iron were commissioned to restore these two, traditional wrought iron overthrows which light the path at the center of this cul-de-sac in Cardiff.

Restoration

The structures had become unsafe and some of the four sided posts had come apart from the square metal bases that they attach to. Scaffolding was erected to support the overthrows until they could be restored.

The Fine Iron team assessed the extent of the corrosion and what works would be required to restore them to their former glory before carefully removing the ironwork and taking them to our workshops for repair. 

Once at our workshops the ironwork was cleaned, rust removed and repaired following best practice methods prior to being repainted and re-installed.
